About the Composer

Adrienne McKinney is a pianist, horn player, teacher, and composer living in Lexington, Kentucky. As the daughter of two musicians, her mother a pianist and father a horn player, she was surrounded by music from the start. She began taking piano lessons around the age of five. When she was in the 5th grade she began studying the horn and continued playing horn in ensembles through graduate school and beyond.
Ms. McKinney write music to appeal to pianists of all ages, exploring sounds that are both modern and familiar. Today's students have sophisticated musical preferences, and her music is written to generate enthusiasm and interest for studying all musical genres.
